Basted – floods 1968

These images show the damage wrought by the floods in September 1968.

The impact of the torrent of water on the buildings is clear, ripping through walls and having a devastating effect inside, making buildings unsafe.The shots also show work later undertaken to demolish buildings and work on a sewage pumping station.
